Valkyrie ink engine
Engine
Valkyrie is the custom vector ink engine developed by 2D Geometry for handwriting in Pronotes.
Input processing
Uses coalesced and predicted Apple Pencil samples, then refines estimated position and Pencil properties when final input arrives.
Ink tools
Pen, monoline, fountain pen, and highlighter with adjustable color, width, and opacity.
Apple Pencil response
Pressure, tilt, direction, and writing speed contribute to the shape of supported strokes.
Editing tools
Lasso selected ink to move, scale, rotate, duplicate, recolor, or delete it.
Erasers and ruler
Object eraser, precise vector eraser, and an on-canvas ruler, with undo and redo.
Canvas and ink format
50%–800% canvas zoom. Resolution-independent vector strokes remain sharp while zooming and exporting.
Rendering
GPU-accelerated Metal rendering with vector stroke tessellation, tiled caching, and background tile preparation.
Documents and media
PDF
Import PDFs, including password-protected files, write directly on their pages, and export annotated notes as PDF.
Document scanning
Scan paper pages with the iPad camera and bring them into a notebook.
Photos
Insert, move, resize, rotate, duplicate, and remove images on the page.
Paper and layouts
Blank, lined, dotted, grid, Cornell, meeting, lecture, project, daily, and research templates.
Pronotes files
Notebooks use the .pronote document type and are visible through Apple’s Files app.
Audio and search
Audio-linked notes
Record while writing, then tap a stroke to replay the audio from that moment.
Playback and recordings
Playback at 0.75×, 1×, 1.25×, 1.5×, or 2×. Delete sessions or merge compatible recordings in order.
Transcription
Recording transcription runs entirely on the iPad.

Permissions
